“We are deeply saddened to share the devastating news that the Gaudreau family has suffered a tragic and unfathomable loss,” the GoFundMe page states. “On August 29, 2024, Matthew and his brother John were killed in a car accident.”

“During this unimaginably difficult time, we are coming together to support Matthew's wife Madeline and their growing baby Tripp and to help alleviate some of the financial burdens they now face. Your support will allow them time off from work to grieve and heal as a family.

“While no amount of money can ease the pain of loss, your support at any level will help ease some of the financial burden on the Gaudreau family as they journey through life.

“All donations raised will go directly to Madeline to help pay for funeral expenses and baby Tripp.”

Tripp is due to be born in December to Matthew's widow, Madeline Gaudreau.

Madeline posted a touching message to her late husband on Instagram on Saturday.

“I am at a loss for words. I just miss you. I don't know my life without you. I have never known such pain. I am so glad you chose me as your wife… that you love me. You are the best thing about me,” Madeline wrote under a photo of the two looking at each other. “I know you are looking down with as much pain as I am looking up. I will keep going for you and our son. I love you so much Matthew.”

Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny's widow, also posted a heartbreaking message for her late husband on Instagram.

“Thank you for the best years of my life. Even though I lost you, I'm still the luckiest girl in the world because I was yours. I love you so much. You were perfect. Some days it felt too good to be true,” Meredith wrote on Saturday. “I love everything about you. You are mine forever and I can't wait to be with you again. I love you so much forever and ever.”
