Danielle Moore, the frontwoman of the electronic band Crazy P, has died under “sudden and tragic circumstances”.

In a statement posted on Instagram today, the British 00s group confirmed the “incredible and shocking news” that Moore had passed away on Friday.

A cause of death has not yet been announced and the band said they “need time to process that this has happened.”

The statement reads: “We are devastated to announce the incredible and shocking news that our beautiful Danielle Moore has passed away under sudden and tragic circumstances. This happened on Friday afternoon, August 30th.”

“We can't believe the news ourselves and we know you all will feel the same. She gave us so much and we love her so much. Our hearts are broken. We need time to process that this has happened.”

Moore joined Crazy P in 2002 and the band was signed to Manchester record label Paper Recordings, which released eight albums between 1998 and 2019, including 24 Hours Psychedelic Freakout and A Nice Hot Bath With…

Their singles include the 1996 debut “Digging Deeper” and “There's a Better Place”, which samples the song “Pure Imagination” from the film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.

They have built a large following in Australia, where they have completed several tours and played at festivals such as The Big Chill, Bestival and Beatheard.
