Are Klarmobil’s birthday offers a reason to celebrate?

Klarmobil is taking advantage of an unspecified anniversary to offer current flagship smartphones at a bargain price and reduce tariff fees. The check reveals whether this results in real bargains.

When looking for mobile phone bargains, the provider Klarmobil is often a good place to go. This is even more true these days because the company is celebrating its birthday. How many years the provider has under its belt is not known, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter – the main thing is that the prices are right. And Klarmobil is not letting itself be put off in this regard. Three current top cell phones are available in a cheap tariff bundle. On top of that, Klarmobil is temporarily waiving the connection fee of 19.99 euros for all all-net flat rate tariffs.

iPhone 15 for 49.99 euros: Klarmobil lures with tariff bundle

Anyone who opts for a 40 gigabyte option in Deutsche Telekom's 5G network for a price of 29.99 euros per month will receive either the iPhone 15, the Samsung Galaxy S24 or the brand new Google Pixel 9 for a one-off price of 49.99 euros. The regular monthly price for these bundles is 54.99 euros per month. The offer is particularly worthwhile with the Pixel 9, which costs at least 750 euros online. But the iPhone 15 and Galaxy S24 are also real bargains in this context.

  • iPhone 15, Galaxy S24 or Pixel 9 for 49.99 euros
  • Telephone and SMS flat rate
  • 40 GB 5G data volume in the Telekom network (up to 150 Mbit/s)
  • Monthly basic fee: 29.99 euros
  • No connection fee
  • Minimum contract period: 24 months

Note: Prices are volatile and retailers may occasionally adjust the recommended retail price (RRP). If prices differ from those shown here, retailers have changed them after the article was published.

Without hardware, the tariff costs 19.99 euros per month, and there is also a surcharge of ten euros per month for the respective cell phone. This means that the effective cost of the smartphone within the 24-month minimum contract period is 289.99 euros. For reference: The Galaxy S24 currently costs at least 590 euros without a contract, and the iPhone 15 even costs 660 euros. The price is also excellent every autumn.

The offer doesn't have any real catches. However, you should cancel the tariff after the minimum contract period has expired so that you don't have to keep paying the ten euro surcharge for the smartphone forever. Also not unimportant: Although the tariff works in the 5G network, it is limited to a data throughput of 150 megabits per second. That is extremely fast, but does not exploit the full 5G potential. Apart from these two points, this is a real bargain – no matter which of the three smartphones you use.

Alternative: iPhone 15 Pro Max with Apple Watch 9 for 25 euros

If you want a lot more in every respect, a trip to o2 could be worthwhile. There you can get the iPhone 15 Pro Max in combination with the 50 gigabyte 5G tariff o2 Mobile M Boost for just 25 euros – and the Apple Watch 9 in the LTE version for free. The tariff costs a whopping 70.49 euros per month, but that sounds a lot more expensive than it actually is.

  • iPhone 15 Pro Max for 25 instead of 1,114.99 euros (4.99 euros shipping)
  • Apple Watch 9 LTE (45 mm) free instead of 519.90 euros
  • Telephone and SMS flat rate
  • 50 GB 5G data volume (up to 300 Mbit/s)
  • Five gigabytes added every year
  • Monthly basic fee: 70.49 euros
  • No connection fee
  • Contract term: 36 months

The hardware included in the bundle has a total value of 1,634.89 euros – a low network price for both smartphone and smartwatch. If you deduct the total costs that arise over the course of the 36-month contract period, 932.74 euros remain for the tariff. This corresponds to an effective monthly basic fee of 25.91 euros. Without hardware, the tariff costs 34.99 euros per month. There is also a hefty discount here.

Practical: Thanks to o2's Pay-Stop function, the basic fee automatically drops to the normal price of 34.99 euros after the first 36 months, so you don't pay extra unnecessarily. Termination isn't necessarily required either. A better deal for Apple fans with demanding surfing habits.
