Guests from “Sandman” and thwarted future plans

“Dead Boy Detectives” by producer Greg Berlanti based on the popular Comic series from Neil Gaiman is set in Netflix's “Sandman” universe and was adapted for television by Steve Yockey, who also acts as co-showrunner alongside Beth Schwartz. The season therefore featured two Cameos from “Sandman” characters, Because Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) and Despair (Donna Preston) stop by briefly.

In April, Schwartz told SFX Magazine that he was still full of confidence and plans for the future: “If we get season 2, we'll pick up right where the first season ended. We already have plans for season 3. We're ready because we have enough ideas and material.” After all, season 1 left us with a real cliffhanger when Niko was seen very much alive after her apparent death.
