University professor accused of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation

A professor at a government college in Shimla has been charged with allegedly assaulting, sexually harassing and intimidating a 20-year-old student, police said on Monday.

According to police, the student filed a complaint at the women's police station in Shimla, accusing the professor of persistent sexual harassment and death threats if she disclosed the incidents.

An investigation was initiated after registering a case under relevant sections of the IPC and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
