Last month, reports emerged suggesting that OpenAI is treading water and could be on the brink of bankruptcy within 12 months, with forecasts predicting losses of $5 billion. Despite discounted access to Microsoft's Azure services and revenue of around $3.5 billion, the ChatGPT maker may need another round of funding to stay afloat.

And now, according to a report from CNBC, OpenAI is in talks for funding that could boost its market valuation to over $100 billion. The company's valuation has risen significantly in recent years – from $29 billion in 2023 to $80 billion earlier this year.
