Soldier wounded in attack by military-motivated troops on military base in Indian-controlled Kashmir

NEW DELHI, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) — An Indian army personnel was injured on Monday when militants attacked a military base in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The militants opened fire and attacked the camp in Sunjwan area of ​​Jammu city, the winter capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

“Gunshots were heard here, injuring a soldier. We are investigating the entire incident,” Ajay Sharma, a senior police officer in Jammu, told the media.

The wounded soldier who was manning one of the posts was immediately taken to the hospital.

Immediately after the attack, government troops rushed to the scene to track down the attackers.

Last week, three militants were killed in two separate shootings in the region.
