Child death in Swansea: Woman accused of murdering 6-year-old boy appears in court

Ms Zurawska was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday.

South Wales Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, having previously stated that Ms Zurawska and Alexander lived together.

Ch Supt Chris Truscott, divisional commander for Swansea and Neath Port Talbot, said it was a “disturbing incident” which had come as “a huge shock to the local community”.

His family paid tribute to Alexander, saying that he was a “very friendly child” who was always well behaved and “never naughty.”

They added that he was “very smart and mature for his age”, had “great expertise” and spoke both English and Polish.
