One person was killed and more than a dozen injured in Ukrainian artillery fire in the Russian region of Belgorod

Ukrainian forces shelled the southern Russian region of Belgorod on Sunday, killing one person and injuring more than a dozen, including two seriously injured children, said regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Gladkov wrote on the messaging app Telegram that one person had died in the village of Shagarovka near the Ukrainian border.

Three people were injured in Shebekino, near the border, and Gladkov reported attacks on at least one other village.

An early morning attack left 11 people injured, including two boys who required surgery after serious injuries. One of them suffered serious wounds to both legs. Doctors considered sending her to Moscow for further treatment.
