Another bus accident in South Africa

This devastating incident came just days after another tragic bus accident involving a Mzansi Express bus travelling from Zimbabwe to South Africa. Ten Zimbabwean citizens were killed and thirty others injured when the bus overturned near the town of Makhado in Limpopo province.

In the accident, which occurred late Tuesday evening on the N1 motorway, the bus lost control after traveling at high speed through a roundabout, resulting in a fatal rollover.

The Limpopo Provincial Department of Transport and Public Safety released a statement detailing the circumstances of the Mzansi Express bus crash.

“The bus traveled through a roundabout at high speed, lost control and overturned, killing and injuring its passengers,” the department's statement said.

Tragically, all those killed in this incident were Zimbabwean citizens.

South Africans stimulate speculation about Recent series of bus accidents

The frequency of these accidents has sparked heated debate and speculation on social media, particularly among South Africans.

Many question the safety of the buses to Zimbabwe and believe that these accidents could not be accidental. Some even speculate that the accidents could be part of a plan to collect money from the Road Accident Fund (RAF). This theory has gained popularity on the Internet.

South Africans are also concerned about the distribution of RAF funds. They claim that a significant portion of it went to the foreigners involved in these accidents.

Here are some of the reactions;

@MaggyValen;

No, there is no pattern here. This is an RAF scam, I'm telling you that.

@Mafa6232;

Yaphela Imali Ye Raf Madoda for foreigners, Nogal. Haai, this law must be changed, foreigners should not benefit from it.

@Noma_here;

I'm sorry but I'm starting to think this is some sort of new scam between government officials and cross country airlines to defraud the RAF. I wouldn't be surprised if some RAF officials were involved in the scam too 😏

@Mandalion;

Unfitness to drive, overloading and speeding are the causes of these Zim bus accidents. Traffic cops are taking bribes, it's just chaos. We need to change the Raf laws and only cover legal people who pay taxes kgaaa

@King_MM_M;

This is the second bus from Zimbabwe. The law doesn't bother them, these guys overload their buses and drive too fast and many of them are not roadworthy, which is very dangerous for other road users.
