Two women seriously injured in head-on crash near Zülpich

According to the Euskirchen district police, all that is known so far is that the two cars were travelling in opposite directions on the L11 on Saturday afternoon. Then, for unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided.

The 64-year-old and 23-year-old drivers were both seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The force of the crash caused both cars to be thrown into adjacent fields. They were badly damaged and had to be towed away after the accident.

The L11 was closed for several hours while the accident was being recorded.
