2 dead and 3 injured when car drives into the patio of the Park Tavern in St. Louis Park

Two people are dead, three injured and a driver is in custody after a car drove into the outdoor seating area of ​​a popular bar and bowling alley in St. Louis Park.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. at the Park Tavern, 3401 Louisiana Av. S., St. Louis Park police said.

“Surveillance footage shows the male driver entering the parking lot of the Park Tavern,” a police statement said. “He attempted to park and then drove onto the outdoor patio.”

The driver is under arrest on suspicion of negligent homicide, the statement said.

The Minnesota State Patrol is on scene reconstructing the accident. Hopkins, Minnetonka and Wayzata police and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call 952-924-2618.
