Browns sign RB D'Onta Foreman and strengthen training squad by five players

The Cleveland Browns have made the following changes to their roster:

Released from the training squad (1):

Foreman (6-0, 235) is in his eighth NFL season as a Texas native. Originally selected in the third round by Houston in 2017, Foreman has played in 52 career games, including 21 starts with the Texans (2017-18), Colts (2019), Titans (2020-21), Panthers (2022) and Bears (2023). He has rushed for 2,326 yards and 14 touchdowns while catching 34 passes for 342 yards and three scores. Last season, Foreman rushed for 425 yards and four touchdowns in nine games. This year, he spent training camp with the Browns. Foreman will wear No. 27.

Brightwell (6-1, 220 pounds) is in his fourth NFL season for Arizona. Originally selected by the Giants in the sixth round in 2021, Brightwell has appeared in 37 career games. He has rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown on 41 attempts while catching 11 passes for 92 yards. He appeared in seven games with the Giants last season. Brightwell will wear No. 35.

Ford (6-0, 195) is in his seventh NFL season for Southeast Missouri State. Originally signed by Detroit as an undrafted free agent in 2018, he has played in 77 career games for the Lions (2018-20), Broncos (2021), Falcons (2022) and Browns (2023). He played in 16 games for Cleveland last season and recorded 19 tackles and one interception on defense. He ranked second on the team with nine tackles on special teams. Ford will wear No. 31.

Griffin (5-10, 180) is a rookie from Mississippi State. He was originally signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent. He will wear number 83.

Latu (6-5, 245 pounds) is in his second NFL season at Alabama. He was originally a third-round pick by San Francisco in 2023. Latu will wear No. 82.

Whiteheart (6-4, 250 pounds) is officially in his second NFL season after Wake Forest. He was originally signed by Arizona as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and appeared in two games as a rookie. He will wear number 86.
