4 injured in 3 stabbings in less than 24 hours in Philly: Police

Philadelphia police are investigating several stabbings that occurred on September 1st.

Stabbing No. 1

According to police, the first of three stabbings occurred early Sunday morning around 4:47 a.m. in the South Dewey Street apartment complex.

According to police, a 41-year-old woman was taken to Temple Hospital with two stab wounds to her upper right back. Her condition was stabilized. No crime scene was established, no weapons were recovered and no arrests were made.

Stabbing No. 2

The second stabbing occurred about 12 hours later in the 2700 block of Kensington Avenue at around 4:04 p.m.

According to police, a 27-year-old man was stabbed once in the right forearm in a delicatessen.

A 63-year-old man also suffered a cut on the head.

Both victims were taken to Temple Hospital by police and their condition was stabilized. No weapons were seized and no arrests were made.

Stabbing No. 3

Just minutes later, police said, a suspect stabbed a Philadelphia park ranger in the head and in the ribs near his right eye during a scuffle at Rittenhouse Square.

The suspect was arrested and police recovered a weapon. The parking attendant was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
