German police officers back on duty

The German police officers who are said to have brutally beaten up a taxi driver in Mallorca are once again ensuring law and order in Germany. As the Essen police have now confirmed, the accused officers are back on duty as normal.

The reason is that the police headquarters in Essen say they have still not received any information from the authorities about the incident.
The four men were on holiday in Mallorca. On the night of August 20th, they are said to have beaten a 71-year-old taxi driver so badly that he had to be hospitalized, and even showed their ID cards to prove it. With severe injuries all over his body, the men then pushed him back into the car. They wanted to release the brake and make the whole thing look like an accident, it is said, then the Guardia Civil arrived.
