1 dead, 2 hospitalized after shooting in Clairton, Pennsylvania: Police

Police say one person died and two others were injured after a person opened fire into a crowd in Clairton, Pennsylvania.

At 3:58 a.m. Sunday, police and emergency responders were notified of an incident involving several people fighting in the street after receiving reports of the unrest, according to a news release from Allegheny County police.

Clairton is located about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh.

When police arrived at 4:10 a.m., they heard several shots fired into the crowd. Police later arrested one person at the scene.

According to police, detectives are investigating the shooting.

Shootings in Clairton: 3 people shot, 1 killed

One of the victims who survived was shot in the arm and the other in the leg, according to police. Both were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

The man, who later died, was initially able to flee the scene after he was shot and caused an accident with his vehicle.

The man, whose identity has not been publicly released, overturned his vehicle and crashed into a power pole, local news station WPXI reported.
