Rideshare driver in Toronto charged with sexual assault

A Toronto ride-share driver is facing charges for allegedly sexually harassing a customer.

Toronto police said they responded to a 911 call from the area of ​​Birchmount Road and Danforth Road on August 28.

According to police, a female victim was sexually assaulted by the driver of a ride-share vehicle after she requested a ride.

Police did not provide any further details about the incident.

Sabir Hussain Cheema, 47, is now charged with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual harassment, police said in a press release.

His court date is scheduled for October 15.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with further information to contact investigators or call Crime Stoppers anonymously.
