2 children die, 7 injured in accident on Lagos-Abeokuta expressway

Florence Okpethe spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta on Sunday.

Okpe said the accident occurred at around 11pm on Saturday.

She explained that the accident was due to excessive speed because the car, registered as AGL 36 JA, was overloaded with passengers.

“A total of seven men, one male and one female teenager, were involved in the accident.

“One male and one female boy were killed in the accident, while others sustained various injuries in the accident.“, she said.

The FRSC spokesman added that the injured victims were taken to Ifo General Hospital and the bodies were taken to the mortuary.

She advised drivers to always follow traffic rules and regulations.
