Wincent Weiss at “The Mouse Show”: His reaction speaks volumes

Wincent Weiss at “The Mouse Show”: His reaction speaks volumes

He is a star in the German music industry and stormed the charts with hits like “Wer wenn nicht wir” and “Feuerwerk”: Wincent Weiss. But the 31-year-old doesn't just feel at home on stage, but also in front of the cameras. Whether as a juror on “The Voice Kids” or as a guest on the quiz show “Kaum zu glauben” – if the format suits him, the singer-songwriter isn't far away.

Now he is returning to the scene for Germany's craziest family show. In “The Big Mouse Show” (formerly: “Ask the Mouse”) he will be the team captain against his opponent Annette Frier. In an exclusive interview, he revealed to the editors what the fans can look forward to and what the artist's reaction to his participation was.

Wincent Weiss makes it clear – “Great honor”

How are you doing?

Wincent Weiss: Great, I've just had a little break and am currently driving to my next performance – the concerts are starting again now.

How did you react when you found out that you were part of “The Big Mouse Show” again?

Wincent Weiss: I've been allowed to do this for a while now, this is my third time. So for me it's more like finding out whether I can take part next time or not. It's a great honour for the show if I can take part again. It means that I did so well the first time that they want me a second time, a third time – and I hope a fourth time too. I just really enjoy it. It's a family show, with lots of children asking questions. Also perfect for what I've always wanted to do.

You have been part of “Ask the Mouse” several times. What is different about the format, apart from the new name – “The Big Mouse Show”?

Wincent Weiss: Basically, the show is based on the old concept. It's about children asking exciting questions to which they want to know the answers. This is explained in a family-friendly way using experiments, games or scientists. The concept has also remained the same. But now there are fixed team captains. I compete against Annette Frier and we always have different candidates on our team. So it's a bit of a battle: Team Elephant against Team Mouse. I play on Team Elephant and of course try to bring home the win – luckily I've always managed that in the last few editions.

Wincent Weiss: Jump into the deep end

Were there any special challenges in the show that you didn't expect?

Wincent Weiss: The difficult thing about the show is that you can't prepare because I don't know the questions or the topics. So I always jump in at the deep end. But I always found it very funny how the “Maus Show” designs the games. It's nice that the editors always have new and fun tasks ready for us to master. I'm not scared or worried about it, I approach every game with a lot of fun and enjoyment. I'm a bad loser, so I'm excited to see how our team does.

What can viewers look forward to at “The Big Mouse Show”?

Wincent Weiss: The guests are a very diverse group again. It will be very funny. I'll actually be able to play a bit of music and perform from time to time. There will be something for the whole family. It will be a colorful mix of games, experiments and scientific explanations. The show is perfect for watching as a family with children and of course you'll always learn something new. After all, you never stop learning. I think you should always expand your knowledge and you can do that really well on the show – and you'll be well entertained too!
