Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace: Prediction, Kick-off Time, TV, Live Stream, Team News, H2H Results, Odds

Chelsea host London rivals Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Blues are back on the rise in the top flight under Enzo Maresca after a 6-2 thrashing of Wolves at Molineux last weekend, with hat-trick heroes Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer both shining.

Despite the many criticisms of their off-field transfer dealings, few would doubt that Maresca has a hugely talented squad at their disposal. However, they made Conference League qualification harder than necessary with Thursday's surprise 2-1 defeat to Swiss side Servette, having won their opening game 2-0 on home soil.

Palace, meanwhile, lost their first two league games against Brentford and West Ham to dampen the overwhelmingly positive mood of the early stages of Oliver Glasner's tenure. However, they beat Norwich 4-0 in the Carabao Cup during the week to claim their first win of the season.

Here you will find everything you need to know about the game.

Date, kick-off time and location

Kick-off for Chelsea against Crystal Palace is scheduled for 1:30pm BST on Sunday 1 September 2024.

The venue for the game is Stamford Bridge in west London.

Team News Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Chelsea will continue to be without the injured duo Romeo Lavia and Reece James, but Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto are expected to return to the squad along with Joao Felix, who was ineligible for the game against Servette after scoring a substitute goal on his second debut for the Blues against Wolves.

Moises Caicedo is fit again from injury, but Jadon Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, did not sign in time to be eligible for his debut on Sunday.

Palace, meanwhile, is struggling with an injury crisis in defence. New signing Chadi Riad had to be substituted against Norwich, leaving only Chris Richards, Marc Guehi and Rob Holding as recognised centre-backs.

Guehi remains at the club after Newcastle's failed transfer attempt, but newcomers Trevoh Chalobah and Maxence Lacroix in defence are not yet ready to play – as are Eddie Nketiah and Matt Turner, who were also signed on the deadline day. Matheus Franca is still out injured.

Prediction for Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Palace have been a bit unlucky in their first two games, but the Blues seem to be on better form now.

Chelsea wins 3-1.
