Mother murders 6-day-old girl in Khyala, Delhi

In a shocking incident, a six-day-old girl was murdered by her own mother. The incident took place in Delhi's Khyala area early on Saturday morning.

At around 5:30 a.m., the police control room received a report of a missing newborn baby. The police then spoke to 28-year-old Shivani, the girl's mother. Shivani said she had returned from her parents' house after being discharged from the hospital.

She said she woke up at 4:30 a.m. to find the baby girl missing. When police began searching for the newborn, Shivani asked to go to the hospital to have her stitches removed.

Meanwhile, during a search of the roof of a neighboring house, police found a bag containing the missing newborn girl. Police took the baby to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police became suspicious about Shivani's behaviour and sent teams to find her. She was then questioned about the incident and confessed to the crime. She said she killed her daughter because she could not bear the social stigma of not being able to give birth to a son. A murder case has been registered against her while the police are waiting for the autopsy report to confirm her claims.
