“During this unimaginably difficult time, we are coming together to support Matthew’s wife Madeline and their growing baby Tripp and help alleviate some of the financial burdens they now face.”says the fundraiser.

The fundraiser has long since reached its goal of $30,000, raising more than $100,000 in the first three hours of its launch. It has now reached more than $300,000!

Fatal driver suspected to be drunk

NHL pro Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew died in a traffic accident two days ago. According to police, they were hit by a car while cycling near their hometown of Salem, New Jersey, on Thursday evening. The driver of a Jeep had tried to pass an SUV on the right after it had made way for the Gaudreau's. The fatal driver is suspected of having been drunk. The investigation is ongoing.
