“Dead Boy Detectives” was canceled by Netflix after one season.

Season 1 of the teen mystery series originally ordered by Max premiered on April 25 and will now be the final season.

According to Variety, the series was in Netflix's top 10 English-language series for only three weeks, reaching number 2 behind the platform's hit series in week 1. Baby reindeer.

Based on the comics of the same name by Neil Gaiman, which are part of The Sandman Universe, Dead Boy Detectives with George Rexstrew as Edwin Payne and Jayden Revri as Charles Rowland.

Edwin and Charles are the brains and brawn behind the paranormal mystery-solving agency Dead Boy Detectives. The teenage duo were born decades apart and are now ghosts who have become best friends.

Along the way, they face numerous challenges, including an evil witch, hell, and death, all of which they must escape. Along the way, they enlist the help of a psychic named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura).

The 8-part series also starred Jenn Lyon, Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Lukas Gage and David Iacono.

Dead Boy Detectives was developed for television by Steve Yockey, who wrote the first episode and served as co-showrunner alongside Beth Schwartz.

Greg Berlanti, Yockey, Schwartz, Jeremy Carver, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman and Gaiman served as executive producers on the series for Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Lee Toland Krieger directed and executive produced the first episode.
