Badlapur minor sexual assault case: Court allows SIT's request to identify accused | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: A Thane Court has accepted the request of the Special Investigating Team (SIT) for a Test Identity Parade in Badlapur Minors' Sexual harassment Case.
This will be done in the presence of the executive judge so that the victims can identify the accused. The case concerns the alleged sexual abuse of two four-year-old children in a School in Badlapur, Maharashtra.
The SIT plans to conduct a psychological profile after identifying the accused to assist the ongoing investigation. Recently, two trustees of the affected school were declared absconding by the SIT. These trustees are wanted because they are not in agreement with the Investigation and could not be tracked down by the police at their homes.
“On August 27, the Bombay High Court stressed the need to educate boys about gender equality from a young age and teach them the correct norms of behaviour. The bench, comprising Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan, observed that male dominance and chauvinism persist in the society and called for a change in mentality.”
The court has proposed the formation of a commission to look into the issue and recommend preventive rules and guidelines for implementation in schools.
The Special Investigation Team filed an FIR against the school authorities on August 23 for failing to comply with Section 19 of the POCSO Act, which requires the authorities to report all known cases of sexual assault on minors to the police.
The investigation into the Badlapur incident is being led by the Deputy Director, Mumbai Region. The team comprises members from various departments who are working together to solve this case.
