Tragic death – 36-year-old Nigerian woman dies during BBL operation in Lagos

A 36-year-old woman named Abiola died tragically while undergoing Buttock Augmentation (BBL) at a clinic in Lekki Phase 1 district of Lagos State. The tragic incident which shocked the community occurred at about 3pm on Monday.

Abiola reportedly left her home in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki with the express purpose of undergoing cosmetic surgery and instructed her driver to take her to the clinic where the procedure was to take place.

Upon her arrival, the clinic owner instructed a nurse to give her an injection as part of the treatment. What was intended to be a routine cosmetic procedure quickly turned into a crisis. Abiola's condition deteriorated rapidly after the injection.

She lost consciousness almost immediately and her breathing became heavy and irregular, which raised alarm among hospital staff.

To deal with the emergency, Abiola was rushed to a hospital in Lekki Phase 1 where she was pronounced dead.
