Manhunt for St. Clair County man accused of stabbing his family to death

FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Michigan. – The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of stabbing his family to death on Thursday, August 29.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at a Fort Gratiot Township home on Parker Road, near Krafft Road. Authorities say a 56-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and a 55-year-old woman had cuts on her hands. Multiple police agencies, the Fort Gratiot Fire Department and medical teams arrived at the scene, but the suspect could not be located.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as 33-year-old Brent Durrant. He is described as 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown hoodie and brown pants.

Authorities said Durrant is mentally disabled and may still be armed with a knife. Anyone who sees Durrant is urged not to approach him and to call 911.
