Woman arrested after stabbing during street riots in Nottingham

A suspect was arrested after a woman suffered a stab wound during an altercation outside a house.

Police were called to Morris Road, Strelley, Nottingham at around 5.45pm yesterday (29 August) after paramedics reported that the woman had been stabbed in the arm.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a group of people gathered in the street.

The woman was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

An investigation has been launched against a 27-year-old woman known to the victim on suspicion of intentional grievous bodily harm.

Detective Inspector Chris Berryman of Nottinghamshire Police said:

“Although incidents of this nature understandably cause concern among the public, we assume that the people involved knew each other.

“We also do not believe that there is any major danger to residents in the neighborhood.

“Although we have made an arrest, our investigation is ongoing and we remain interested in receiving information from anyone who can provide us with information.

“We would particularly urge anyone who has relevant footage from mobile phones, doorbells, CCTV or dashboard cameras to contact us.”
