Road was closed for about 30 minutes

WALTON COUNT, GA (August 29, 2024) – Walton County Fire Department Assistant Chief Craig League reports that two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Walton County Thursday afternoon.

“WCFR responded to a two-vehicle crash on Mt Vernon Road at Mountain Creek Church Road at 1:14 p.m.,” League said, adding it involved a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck.

According to League, two patients were taken by ambulance to Piedmont Athens, one with serious injuries and another with moderate injuries.

The Georgia State Patrol investigated the accident. League said Mt Vernon Road was closed for about 30 minutes as a result of the accident.
