“The truth has not yet come to light”

Blake Lively's brother-in-law Bart Johnson defends the It ends with us Star amid rumors of behind-the-scenes drama.

The High School Musical Alum, married to Lively's sister Robyn Lively, dismissed a fan's claim about the gossip Girl Alum.

Johnson celebrated Lively's birthday this week with a post in her honor. One fan responded to the Instagram post, saying it was a “shame” that Lively “seeks to promote happiness in an environment of domestic violence with no regard for the victims.”

“I'm really sorry you feel that way. I'm sure you have a big heart and want the best. I can promise you that the truth has not come out yet,” Johnson replied. “Blake worked harder on this film than anything I've seen her do in my entire life. Because it meant so much to her.”

Johnson continued: “The message is in the book. And in the film. Not in short clips/interviews. It is the reason why the message/this film/gets out to the public.”

The actor, who reprised his role as Coach Bolton in the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series added: “Have mistakes been made? Yes. I make mistakes in life. But they are not scrutinized. However, I respect your views. I have nothing but love for you.”

It ends with us is an adaptation of the 2016 novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover. Directed by Justin Baldoni from a screenplay by Christy Hall, the film follows Lively's Lily Bloom, a recent college graduate who moves to Boston to start a new chapter in her life. When Lily meets Baldoni's Ryle Kincaid, a neurosurgeon completing his residency there, the two feel attracted to each other. The book deals with themes such as domestic violence and toxic relationships.

During the press tour to promote the film, the tension between the main actors was palpable. Baldoni and Lively did not appear together at the film's premiere or give joint interviews. In the midst of the alleged drama, Baldoni hired Crisis PR management. The Rumors of alleged feuds between the stars have not deterred moviegoers from seeing the film, which recently surpassed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office.

In a second response, Johnson said: “The truth has not yet come out. But it will come out.”
