Two more people charged in connection with knife attack on teenager in Halifax

Halifax Regional Police have charged two adults in connection with the stabbing death of a teenager outside a Halifax shopping mall in April.

The 16-year-old victim, Ahmad Maher Al Marrach, was found injured in a parking lot of the Halifax Shopping Centre on April 22 and later died in hospital.

Four juveniles – a 14-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys – have already been charged with suspected second-degree murder in connection with the incident.

According to police, two people were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly giving false information to investigators and helping the defendants evade arrest in connection with Al Marrach's death.

They say two adults, a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, are now each charged with aiding and abetting an indictable offence.

The names of the young people are subject to a ban on publication, and the police say they cannot provide any further information.
