Metallica honors fan who died during Edmonton show – 98KUPD – Arizona's Real Rock

Metallica has released a statement in memory of a fan who died during the band’s final concert in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

In an Instagram caption next to a photo of the fan named Lornethe metal legends write: “Friday night, August 23rd, we lost a member of the Metallica family at the show in Edmonton. He passed away due to health reasons.”

“He is leaving this earthly body and moving on to the next adventure,” the post continues. “It is very sad when death occurs, but we are touched that he spent some of his final, hopefully joyful time with us.”

It ends with the words: “Our condolences to the family and friends of Lorne 'Viking'. With love and respect, Metallica.”

Metallica's tour continues on Friday in Seattle.
