Tullamore mourns the tragic death of a young man

On Sunday (25 August), Richard McDonagh from Tullamore died tragically.

Mr McDonagh, a man in his mid-20s, was preceded by the deaths of his brother Eamonn in March 2022 and his young son Christopher in November last year.

Richard McDonagh was a former pupil of Scoil Bhride, Tullamore, and will be remembered as a talented sportsman in his younger years, helping his school to success in Cumann na mBunscol hurling.

Richard McDonagh, of O'Molloy Street, Tullamore, will be sadly missed by his loving father Eamonn and partner Bernadinne, his mother Bridget, his brothers Keane, Daniel, Denis and Jake, his sisters Crystal, Meghan, Abigail, Kaithlynn, Anna, Brianna and Callie, his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

His remains will lie in state at O'Reilly's Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore on Wednesday 28th August from 4pm until the time of the Rosary at 6pm.

The body will be transferred to the Church of The Assumption in Tullamore on Thursday morning. We will meet there at 10am for the funeral mass and the burial will take place after the mass in the Clonminch Cemetery in Tullamore.
