Fate 2 Developer Bungie is currently working on a new PVP extraction shooter titled MarathonThe game was announced in 2023 and is scheduled to launch in 2025, but not much is known about the game yet.

However, there have been reports that the game may be facing some issues. As if that wasn’t enough, a new report has now revealed that the game director of Marathon was fired from the company due to inappropriate behavior.

According to a report by BloombergChris Barrett, the game director of Marathon was fired in the spring following an internal investigation. According to the report, there were allegations against him “Several female employees behaved inappropriately.”

The report states that at least eight female employees complained against Barrett and accused him of misconduct. An investigation was then conducted that found that Barrett behaved inappropriately toward them. The investigation found that he called lower-level female employees “attractive.”

He also asked them to play truth or dare, referring to his “Wealth and Power” in the studio and suggested that he could help staffers advance their careers. Messages sent to Bloomberg showed Barrett urging staffers to hang out and were “flirtatious.” The report states:

He also befriended women from the various departments of the studio and sent them a “a flood of text messages that blurred the boundaries between professional and personal.” Barrett joined the company in 1999 and was fired in March of this year following the investigation.

Sony and Bungie have worked hard to to create another successful franchise with Marathon How DeterminationHowever, the departure of game director Barrett after the investigation is completed could well mean the end for the already ailing game.

Earlier this month, there were reports that the game was experiencing production issues, which may or may not be due to the lack of a director. It has been rumored that the developers working on it are unsure if the title will be able to ship at some point around its internally planned release date of 2025.

Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, who was on the Podcast “Friends per Second” said that the development of the game “not so great” According to his knowledge, this is the case and therefore an internal decision was made to release the game, which was originally planned for this year, next year.

In addition, fans are also not happy with the game and many say that it does not contain anything new and innovative. The developer has also not revealed much about the game, which is not exactly helpful. Not to mention the Barrett situation, which puts the studio in a bad light.
