Man stabbed in workplace brawl in Monroe County, officials say

A 39-year-old man is accused of stabbing his co-worker in Monroe County this week, officials said.

Someone called 911 around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to report an altercation between the two in the 7100 block of Crabb Road in Temperance, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The man pulled out a knife and attacked his 39-year-old colleague as the argument escalated, the statement said.

When officers arrived, they found that the suspect had fled and the other man had a deep stab wound to his forearm.

Emergency responders treated his wounds and took him to ProMedica Toledo Hospital because his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, sheriff's officials said.

Investigators do not know what sparked the argument between the two men. The sheriff's office has turned the case over to the district attorney for review, the press release states.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Bureau at (734) 240-7530.

Authorities in Wayne County are investigating another stabbing case since a Westland man was arraigned Wednesday for allegedly stabbing another person to death.

Additionally, a Macomb County woman was charged with allegedly stabbing her boyfriend multiple times in July.

Michigan State Police reported 33,782 cases of aggravated or criminal assault in 2022. The crime occurs when one person unlawfully attacks another and, in the latter category, uses a dangerous weapon, according to the latest Crime in Michigan Annual Report.
