Final Alabama Football Play-by-Play Prediction for the 2024 Regular Season

A few days ago, when discussing Alabama's 2024 football regular season success expectations, I admitted that my head (not my heart) says the Crimson Tide will go 10-2. Across the college football world, most experts, if asked which side of 10-2 is most likely for Alabama, would predict 9-3 instead of 11-1. A few naysayers, who I think should be ignored, predict 8-4.

At 10-2, a playoff spot should be assured. It's possible 9-3 would be good enough. Either way, my focus is on how good the Alabama Crimson Tide will be in November, December and January. My strong feeling is: very good, as a top contender for the overall title.

I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama is 11-1 in the regular season. Too many changes in offensive and defensive schemes and too few players without adequate game experience suggest Georgia will be too strong for the Crimson Tide in September. My prediction is a Georgia win, but not by a large margin. There is no clear indication of when Alabama will lose for a second time. Predicting two losses is based on the assumption that the schedule is just too tough. A subpar performance will result in a second loss.
