Police searching for suspect after woman shot and stabbed, Claiborne County sheriff says

HARROGATE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A woman was shot and stabbed in Shawanee Township on Wednesday, according to officials with the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office.

“The victim, a white female, was found with life-threatening injuries,” officials said.

She was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Sheriff Bob Brooks told WVLT News they were looking for a female suspect.

The incident occurred near Lincoln Memorial University, which was on lockdown for part of the evening, according to a faculty member.

The Claiborne County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division investigated the incident.
