Trial date for Rochester man accused of shooting his neighbor

ROCHESTER – A trial date has been set for a Rochester man accused of shooting his neighbor multiple times.

Jason Levesque, 44, has been held without bail since his arrest on April 8, four days after the shooting. He appeared in court again on Tuesday for a hearing that resulted in his trial being scheduled to begin with jury selection on Monday, Nov. 4, according to Joachim Barth, an assistant Strafford County district attorney.

Levesque is accused of several serious crimes. He is accused of shooting his Summer Street neighbor, 37-year-old Kyle Violette, six times after an argument over snow removal.

Levesque was indicted by a grand jury in July on charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault, both Class A felonies. The attempted murder charge is a special crime that can carry greater penalties.

Levesque is represented by attorney Mark Sisti, who had previously indicated that he would argue that his client acted in self-defense.
