Motorcyclist flown to UIHC after accident

LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – A Central City motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after striking a deer Wednesday night, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said it received a report at 8:15 p.m. that a motorcycle struck a deer on Whittier Road near Prairie Chapel Road.

At the scene, rescue workers found a silver Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was traveling toward Whittier before it struck a deer.

The motorcyclist was flown to the University of Iowa Health Center with life-threatening injuries.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
