Teenager killed in UTV crash honored at Spartanburg County football game.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) – Spartanburg Secondary School District announced that Boiling Springs High School plans to pay its final respects to a teenager who was killed in a UTV accident during a football game on Friday.

16-year-old Ethan Harrell was a passenger in a UTV when it veered off the right side of the road and overturned late Sunday.

Before Friday's game, a tribute to Harrell will be presented from the commentary booth.

School officials said they plan to honor Harrell by having the football team wear his No. 5, Harrell's baseball jersey number, on their helmets. Harrell's best friend, a wide receiver, will wear his baseball jersey as the team runs onto the field.

A family friend, Troy Patterson, is also selling T-shirts during the football game to raise money for Harrell's family. Patterson said the money will help ease the family's financial burden and allow them to properly mourn their son.
