Voter info: Prepare for the local elections on October 1

Information about our Kenai Peninsula district/city elections on Tuesday, October 1st:

Elections will be held for city council seats in Seldovia, Homer, Kachemak City, Soldotna, Kenai and Seward. In addition, Homer will elect a mayor and the Southern Peninsula will vote on a bond proposal. All will vote on candidates running for county assembly, school board and service area committees.

The deadline to register to vote for this election is September 1. Go to voterregistration.alaska.gov.

In-person absentee voting begins September 16. Find your location here: www.kpb.us/assembly-clerk/elections/absentee-voting-information.

The deadline for applying for a postal vote is September 24. Go to

The deadline for applying for a postal vote by fax ends on September 30th.

Polling stations will be open for in-person voting on October 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
