“The alternative is indeed frightening for the corrupt and evildoers” – Asiedu Nketia

National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the NDC is not concerned about claims that the NDC is a scary alternative to the ruling NPP government.

In his opinion, those who claim that the alternative is frightening are people who have plundered the state treasury and want to evade responsibility.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned voters ahead of the December 7 elections about the consequences of electing a previously failed government.

Especially on social media, every time NDC was mentioned as a replacement for the ruling party, members commented: “The alternative is scary.”

However, in a speech to a large crowd of NDC supporters in Somanya in the Eastern Region, Asiedu Nketia implicitly acknowledged that she was offering a frightening alternative to people who commit crimes against the state.

“When you keep hearing the NPP shouting that the alternative is scary, tell them that the alternative is actually scary for the people who stole taxpayers' money. Tell them it is scary for those who dug the biggest hole in the world. Tell them it is scary for all the people who built the Agyapadie empire and are stealing for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” he said.

The national chairman has been campaigning for the party and its leading candidate John Mahama in parts of the eastern region ahead of the December 7 elections.

During his tour, General Mosquito, as he is affectionately called, boasted about the performance of the NDC government compared to that of the NPP.

He is convinced that the NDC cares more about the welfare of the people than the NPP.
