Jesse Watters' 'terrible' election claim catches fire on Fox in less than an hour

Fox News host Jesse Watters summed up Vice President Kamala Harris' week as “terrible” on Wednesday, but then made a claim that didn't quite stand up to the conservative network's poll numbers.

The co-host of “The Five” claimed that Harris had received “no boost” from last week’s Democratic National Convention before her co-host Jessica Tarlov intervened.

“That's not true, she's up four percentage points and is campaigning in Georgia today,” Tarlov said after Harris overtook former President Donald Trump in a newly released post-convention poll.

“OK, she didn't have a rebound,” Watters insisted. “And now she's in a losing battle in all the swing states.”

“That’s not true,” Tarlov interjected.

“Real Clear, try it, during the break I will prove you wrong.”

According to RealClearPolitics' averages of national polls, Harris was not “lagging in all swing states,” while she was ahead of Trump in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Fox News' Bret Baier, in a special report less than an hour after Watters' claim, released a new post-convention poll from the network showing Harris ahead of Trump in Arizona, Georgia and Nevada.
