Road reopened after car accident on James Island

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Charleston police said a portion of a road on James Island has been reopened following a “serious” accident Wednesday evening.

Police notified the public of the accident at 7 p.m. on X, formerly known as Twitter. Officers closed Riverland Drive between George Griffith Boulevard and Grimball Road while they investigated the single-vehicle crash.

Police said the Serious Accident Investigation Task Force was investigating a car accident with serious injuries.

According to the police post on X, the road was reopened about an hour later.
