US chipmaker Nvidia reports record quarterly sales amid rising demand for AI

US chipmaker Nvidia reported record quarterly revenue amid booming demand for artificial intelligence (AI), according to its financial results statement released on Wednesday.

The California-based company reported record revenue of $30 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2025, which ended July 28, up 122% from $13.5 billion in the same period last year.

The company also said it achieved record quarterly data center revenue of $26.3 billion, up 154% from the same period in 2023.

“NVIDIA achieved record revenue as its global data centers ramped up to modernize the entire computing stack with accelerated computing and generative AI,” founder and CEO Jensen Huang said in the statement.

“Across the stack and ecosystem, we are helping makers of breakthrough models, consumer internet services and now enterprises. Generative AI will revolutionize every industry,” he added.

Net profit, meanwhile, rose a massive 168% from around $6.2 billion in the same period last year to nearly $16.6 billion in the second quarter.
