A Queen Elizabeth man is behind bars accused of threatening a woman with a gun during a dispute over property.

Robert Lee Thompson, 41, was arraigned Wednesday by District Judge Brian K. Baker on one misdemeanor count each of simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

Because he was unable to pay the $300,000 bail, he was remanded to the Bedford County Correctional Facility.

The charges stem from a report of a domestic incident that officers were called to at approximately 5:06 a.m. on Aug. 28. While en route to the scene in the 100 block of Appletree Lane in Kimmel Township, Bedford County, officers were informed that Thompson had placed the barrel of a gun in the victim's mouth, according to the probable cause affidavit.

When they arrived at the apartment, officers questioned the victim. She said she and Thompson had been arguing all night, but it had gotten worse. They were fighting over items in her vehicle when Thompson grabbed a firearm and put the barrel in her mouth while yelling at her. The victim told officers that Thompson had hidden the gun somewhere on the property before they arrived, court documents say.

A juvenile at the scene was also questioned but told officers she was in a mobile home during the argument. She heard the victim and Thompson yelling at each other but did not see a gun, she said. Despite a search of the property, the gun was not found, the report said.

Thompson is scheduled to appear before Baker for a preliminary hearing on September 4.

He is also charged with three misdemeanors and six counts of animal neglect in a separate case. Thompson is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before Magistrate Judge Tonya M. Osman on Oct. 2.
