Two men arrested for gun violence against undercover investigators

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Two men are suspected of blocking an undercover police vehicle before approaching officers with weapons.

Jesse Krause, 20, and Deion Mosley, 23, were charged with kidnapping and carrying a concealed weapon on Monday, August 26. Mosley was additionally charged with drug possession and drug trafficking.

According to investigators, Mosley and Krause approached an unmarked Cincinnati Police Department vehicle and pointed their firearms at the two officers.

“They were wearing tactical gear that identified them as police officers,” said Ken Kober, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 69. “(The officers) immediately got out, attacked them with firearms drawn and were able to arrest them before anything actually happened.”

Kober said officers were working undercover when their attention was drawn to two cars. Officers began following them and called uniformed officers to assist with the traffic stop.

According to court documents, Krause and Mosley had developed a coordinated plan to block the unmarked police car before the marked patrol cars arrived.

“The undercover officers eventually got between the two vehicles of interest,” Kober said. “These vehicles attempted, in a coordinated fashion, to stop in the middle of the road, surround the two undercover officers, and then exit the vehicle with a firearm in their hand.”

Both men were arrested at the scene.

Kober said the situation showed how dangerous police work can be.

“Especially when you're doing undercover work,” Kober said. “When you're targeting people who are known to carry weapons and deal drugs.”

Krause and Mosley are scheduled to appear in court on September 5.
