Man found dead with gunshot wound in crashed truck on Sierra Blanca Drive near Alief, Harris County officials say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation into a death is underway after a man was found shot to death in a crashed car in western Harris County on Sunday, officials said.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said officers responded to a reported accident at an apartment complex in the 6400 block of Sierra Blanca Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, a man in his mid-30s was found shot to death in a truck after allegedly colliding with another vehicle.

Emergency medical services performed CPR, but the patient was pronounced dead at the scene a few minutes later, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators said witnesses saw two black men wearing dark clothing running away from the victim's vehicle shortly after hearing gunshots and witnessing the crash.

A detailed description of the suspects was not provided, and the sheriff's office said investigators were working to determine a motive for the fatal shooting.
