The K-Pop group NCT has separated from Taeilone of its numerous members, was accused of committing a sex crime.

The 30-year-old musician was a member of the parent K-pop group and participated in one of its subgroups NCT127.

The band's label, SM Entertainment, released a statement on the matter on social media.

According to a translation of the statement provided by AP: Taeil was “charged in a criminal proceeding in connection with a sex crime.”

“We have recognised the seriousness of the situation and decided Taeil can no longer continue team activities,” they explained. “We have discussed this matter with Taeiland it was decided that he would leave the group.”

Taeil is reportedly cooperating with police during the ongoing investigation. The exact charges have not been disclosed and he has not issued a statement of his own. We will keep you updated as we learn more.

Billboard noted that the musician’s bandmates Johnny And Haechan were recently accused of being “involved in a sex scandal.” The label “strongly denied” all allegations against them.

The news comes after another member of the group recently made his solo debut.
