BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Numerous police officers gathered near an intersection in northeast Bend Wednesday afternoon after shots were fired. Officials said no one was injured and a suspect was arrested, but urged people to avoid the area.

The report of the shooting came in shortly after 3:30 p.m. on NE Second Street near Franklin Avenue, said Sheila Miller, communications manager for the Bend Police Department, which led to a “large police presence in the area.”

Miller said there is no danger to the community and no damage is known at this time.

For the investigation, Second Street between DeKalb and Franklin Avenue and Emerson Avenue between Third and First Street were closed.

“Bend Police are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues,” Miller said, adding that “more information will be released as it becomes available.”
