First teaser for Kerry Washington’s World War II drama “The Six Triple Eight”

“You don’t have the luxury of being good, you have the burden of being better.” Netflix has released a first teaser for a film titled The Six Triple Eighta brand new Tyler Perry production. Fortunately, it is not called “Tyler Perry’s Six Triple Eight“because it's not another romantic thriller. The Six Triple Eight is inspired by the first and only colored unit of the Women's Army Corps to serve overseas in World War II. 855 women joined to help clear a three-year backlog of undelivered mail. Despite discrimination and wartime devastation, they managed to sort more than 17 million letters in advance. Written and directed by Tyler Perry, the film stars Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams, the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. With an ensemble consisting of Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanette Godlockwith Susan Sarandon, Dean NorrisAnd Sam WaterstonAnd Oprah Winfrey. The film is based on the article by Kevin M. Hymel and features the original song “The Journey” by Diane Warren, performed by HER with choreography by Debbie Allen. Netflix will broadcast Perry’s The Six Triple Eight Film streaming on Netflix starts December 20, 2024 End of this year.
